NYU School of Medicine has an immediate opening (part time and/or full time) in the department of Psychiatry for an experienced research technician. The position involves carrying out genetic, molecular biology and protein biochemistry experiments to study the intracellular signal transduction in the mouse brain. Many of the experiments will involve behavioral phenotyping, immunohistochemistry, genotyping and tracking of mouse colonies. Candidate must have recent experience working with mouse/rodent colonies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BS or MS in Biomedical sciences or related degree with at least 2 years of consistent related work experience in a research laboratory. Must be detail oriented, have excellent organizational skills and strong communication. The ideal candidate is one who demonstrates initiative in their work product and learning, efficiency in completion of projects assigned, keeps detailed records and can work independently and as part of a multi-dimensional professional research staff.
